Subject: Re: Steering rack repair

I have a 1992 Mitsubishi galant. I take good care of it and uusually take care of problems before they get out of line. Lately, and since the garage put my snows on for the winter, my car has been pulling to the right. I took it back once and was told it was the tie rod end, which they replaced. And at that time the alos did a "toe in alignment". Still have the problem, took it back a second time, they balanced (or rebalanced my tires)and now say that I need a steering rack, quoted cost @550. I do not leak power steering fluid, and ironically, why couldn't they have diagnosed that the first time. They also said the boots are leaking. I was going to take it somewhere else for a second opinion. I just wonder if I truly need to have it replaced. High expense.

Thanks!
