Subject: Buying an older model 1993 D wagon

Hi, will someone please tell me if I am doing the right thing in buying the Diamante Wagon with 117,000 mi. for 1,500? The dealer said they didn't know why the engine was running intermitantly. They also said it doesn't do it on the highway at higher speeds, just when idling. The sound of it is quiet as though it idles normal and then intermitantly, but doesn't seem to die or stall. He dropped the price because he said they couldn't find out why it's doing this. Does anyone have any opinions about this?? Thanks! Thumbs up or down?? and why??
