Thanks for your compliment and story suggestion. I'd love to see my editors go for it. I might pitch that one. As far as the NCAA goes, I don't have the time or space to tell you of the many changes I think are necessary.
In a perfect world, the sneaker companies would be out because they have too much influence, but I'm sure some smaller schools benefit from the donations.
The clearinghouse issue is so confusing to the average coach and fan that it's a joke. One thing that irks me is that the NCAA always seems to crack down on the smaller schools in hoops, like a Marist or Manhattan, while the big schools get off easy. I think the eligibility of foreign players must be tightened to avoid pro-types from coming over here to play for a year or two and then splitting.
