Subject: Hola chicos! Review #2 is complete. It's Willa Ford's "Willa Was Here". Hope you guys like it!

1) I Wanna Be Bad
OK this is a great song. I think it's probably the anthem for all the little Catholic School Girls out there like me LoL. This song has a very catchy hook and it flows together very well. The vocal arrangements were put together nicely, and in all the right places in my opinion. I think my favorite thing about this song is the lyrics. Who hasn't thought about being bad a few times in their lives? I like the rap by Royce Da 5"9'. The part where she says "Will the real Slim Shady please stand up" is cute, it backs up her statement that she's the female Eminem. Her add lib is good, though I think she could have hit a few higher notes. I have seen her live and she has an incredibly powerful voice.

2) Did Ya' Understand That
The beginning is awesome. The ba' ba' ba da da da da's along with the violin, I think, give the song a serious, but fun pop feel. The words are in the verses are smoothly sung, but rapped at the same time. The lyrics are strong, and they convey a feeling of wanting to be heard. The mini bridge is short, but sweet, and it's something that will get stuck in your head. The chorus is very well put together. There are few synthesizers used in certain parts, and they give the song a modern feel. Studio tricks like that are becoming very popular, and she's right at the head of the trend. The bridge is a little sloppy, it doesn't feel like it should be in this song. Again there were places she could have used that strong voice of hers.

3) Ooh Ooh
I don't care too much for this song. It doesn't flow very well and the arrangement is just off. The chorus is annoying and the music sounds louder then her voice. There is no real climax to the song. It is good in the sense that it has a very mellow rhythm and blues feel. If you just wanted to chill out it might be relaxing to hear. If you really listen you can hear some hard notes that she hits. The music is better then the vocals in this song. It's one I think people will skip more often then not.

4) Tired
This song is one of my favorites on this album. It is insults the Pop industry by using lines such as "tired of the pop, it should flop, it should never be," but if you are a Pop fan, what makes up for that is the music itself is Pop LoL. It's something you can dance to and it has a great beat. All the arrangements and vocals were put together and executed perfectly. In a way though it tells the truth. Willa wrote thing song based on her experiences while she was up and coming. Saying things like "Manufactured is this hot pop industry...I know cus they tried to do it to me" and also saying lines like "tired of the people saying Britney" are not meant to diss her or other people necessarily. They just speak about what she went through. The mini bridge is a bit catchy, and there again she makes a statement "you're never gonna see me lip sync." This is a strong song that has more to say then just the typical Pop song. Every word of the song has a degree of truth, and it makes its statement with some class and without causing a huge, offending uproar like Eminem's "Real Slim Shady."

5) Joke's On You
I like this song. It has a good intro, and it reminds me of something off the "Save the Last Dance Soundtrack." It has a good Pop beat, and the chorus is tight. It has good rhyme, rhythm, and vocal arrangements. The music itself is awesome. Willa hits some good notes at the end of the bridge. I don't care much for the mini bridge but it does have some good harmonies in it which carry into the chorus. The lyrics are cool. Lines like "Every time you played around I did too...now I guess the jokes on you" give some strength to the song. The add lib is a bit weak, but it doesn't really matter because you get caught up in the chorus. The bridge is pretty, it slows it down a little bit, but still keeps the somewhat fast beat. It would make a mad good single.

6) Tender
I don't care too much for the intro. Willa does some speaking, and it required more emotion and passion then she put into it. She's a singer not an actress LoL. However, I do think it's important to put feeling into a song so you can make the listener understand what the song is saying. It's a very very mellow song, it's sound is very similar to a blues song. The chorus is pretty and sweet. It all flows smoothly. I like the piano, but the finger snapping doesn't really go in this song. The lyrics are pretty. The bridge doesn't really stand out, but it's nice in it's own right. She hits a nice note at the end of it. The add lib she does at the end is mediocre. Overall it's a nice song, but it's boring.

7) Don't You Wish
I like the intro here. It starts with a few beats and then adds other sounds. Willa basically raps, but again it has a kind of soft singing sound to it. The finger snapping goes here. The chorus is the best part. It sounds very full and has good harmonies. This song is definitely R&B. It has a number of different tones and scheme's to it, and this makes for a lot of diversity. This song can almost be considered fast or slow depending on how you want to look at it. The bridge is weak, but her voice sounds nice. Right after it, she hits some notes that make it very enchanting. There is a definite height to this song. The a cappella at the end is great. I think it would make a good single.

8) Prince Charming
I like this song a lot. The beginning hooks you in. The verses are arranged very well. They have a tiny bit of harmony. The mini bridge is cool and flows right into the chorus. I love the music to this song. It reminds me of something. The lyrics are cute, and I love when she gives shout outs to her "prince charmings" like Matt Dameon, Leonardo DiCaprio, Sisqo and Colby Briant. The beats in this song are awesome. Her voice was perfect for it. She displays some of her range in this song. I like how she just kind of yells "Romeo where you at where you at." Overall it's a good catchy song.

9) Somebody Take The Pain Away
The instruments in the beginning are pretty. I don't really care much for the song though. The music and vocals didn't really go together. The chorus belongs in a faster song. It's also too loud in comparison to the verses. It sets you up for a pretty ballad but doesn't really deliver. I like the music itself, it has a good beat. I can't get past the chorus LoL it's too strong for this song. The violins are pretty though. I like the harmonies at the end. I think if I heard the song enough times I could grow to like it.

10) Haunted Heart
I ADORE this song. I can't stop playing it. The intro is so pretty and I like the breathing/beat boxing sounds. The mini bridge is gorgeous. The song itself is very enchanting LoL or "haunting" The verses start out stop and go and then go fast in the mini bridge. Here she shows off her range a little bit. The words are so pretty "Once I make a spell I'll haunt you, you're haunted, you know you are. There's no way you can get away from, you're haunted, you're haunted heart." The bridge itself is different then the typical ballad bridge, but it's done excellently. The chorus has a very full sound. The electric guitar sounds so pretty at the end with the chorus. Really there's not too much you can say about this song, it's just beautiful, and either you think so or you don't.

11) Dare
This intro is cute, it's creepy, but it has a Pop sound (I like the actual pops in it LoL). This is a good song. You really can't tell where the separations of the verses, chorus, and the bridge are. It's well put together, and has a lot of different tones so you get a few different feels. You can hear the strength in her voice good and the add lib is good as well. This song is a lot like Nitro (New roller coaster at Six Flags). There are a number of different tones like all the different drops on the ride, but it all goes together well. It's a good song and would probably make a good single.

Overall I think this was a very good album. I liked much more then I disliked. I was reading the credits and she wrote all but 2 songs, arranged the vocals on all the songs, and was also the executive producer on all of the songs. I was happy to see someone up and coming doing their own thing based on their own experiences. I'm not into love songs and this was about a relationship she had, but good music is good music. She's certainly not a match for Britney or Christina but I don't think you can compare her to them. Her voice is completely different from either of them, and so are her songs. I think this was an album worth buying, and there are very few of those lately. I definitely think if you get it you are going to like at the least 5 songs.
