Subject: Rabbits are not a problem, humans are!!

Regarding rabbits, please note the following facts.
1. Humans cause more damage to the environment (and continue to do so) than any other species.
2. Rabbits have been deliberately imported and let
loose in some countries like Australia by humans(they didn't ask to be bought there).
3. Pet rabbits are not a danger to the environment
(this has been proven by Australian State Governments
relaxing the laws regarding the number of pet rabbits
people can have in every State except Queensland).
4. In Australia, humans have caused the extinction of
many animal species and continue to do so through land
clearance for homes, farms and clearing land for destructive
livestock with hard hooves which damage the Australian
environment.
5. When wild rabbits were introduced into Australia, humans
had already caused the extermination of many species. The
wild rabbits filled a niche in the food chain and have
become a prime food source of wedge-tailed eagles and other
birds of prey. When Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease escaped into
the Australian environment and rabbit numbers dropped in
the Strezlecki ranges, Wedge-tailed eagles ceased to breed.
6. Myxomatostis and predatory animals keep rabbit numbers
down in most parts of Australia. In some parts of Australia,
wild rabbits are not a problem at all and are never even
mentioned in the press.
7. Rabbits, dogs, cats and other animal pet and farm
species are mistreated, abandoned and euthanased yearly
in their thousands (world wide, in their millions) by
stupid human beings. STOP CRUELTY TO ANIMALS.

So before you blame rabbits or any other species for all
our sins, get your facts straight. Better still, become
a vegetarian and stop the continued destruction of Australian bush by introduced hard hooved meat animals
on Australia's fragile landscape and topsoil.
