They scan what programs you physically have open and I believe look at the description of each as well. So if you're using MyAdvantage cheat and then quit it, your "Explorer" will still be titled "MyAdvantage cheat" or whatever and Spedia will detect that. But no it doesn't scan for files that are cheats if they are nto running.

On another note, so far this emulator is working great!
