Sitting on a curb in the middle of town
staring down a road that goes nowhere now;
wondering where it ever ends.

Kickin' stones on a dusty lot
contemplating death cause it's so hot,
counting empty houses where there used to be friends.

Yes, time moved on without me,
it never stopped to wait.
All I am is a memory
in someone else's life so great.

The second stanza Lori,
has a lot of spunk in it!
Great piece so far.
Are you considering finishing it?

It has a couple more stanzas to it; however, I never use them. It was written in the heat of summer as I sat on a curb waiting for a friend. I was in a town that I was in the year before, and used to have a friend that lived on this road I was sitting on.
