Neil PATTERSON b c1811 in Scotland, died 1901 in Canada.
sp Nancy(Agnes? Ann?) surname unknown b c1815 in Scotland.

1855 Assessment Records for Mariposa Twsp.
Neil PATTERSON, age 45, Concession, 8, lot N. 10 (100 acres)
Donald PATTERSON age 29, Con. 8, lot S.10 (100 acres)
(Donald lived next to Neil, relationship unknown (brother? cousin?).

From 1861 Census:
Neil PATTERSON, farmer b Scotland Church of Scot., 50yrs.

Nancy wife Scotland 46yrs.

Lauchlin
b Canada 21yrs.

John bCanada 16yrs.

Flora bCanada 15yrs

Christy (Christina)
bCanada 13 yrs.

Return of the Inspection of Clergy Reserve Land in the Colborne District,
1844- Mariposa Twsp.
Con. 7 lot 2, Lauchlin PATTERSON, age 2, cleared acres with 22 families on the concession.

The 1901 Census shows Neil PATTERSON living at 34 South King St., Oakwood, Victoria Co., with his son Lauchlin PATTERSON b1842 & sp Jane (WALLACE) b 1847, their sons, Lonson b1885 & Orlando b1889, & a niece, Zelma Patterson (NOKES) b1867.

**1901 Census states that Neil immigrated to Canada in 1850??? Not right..his first child born in Canada in 1842!!

WHAT I WANT TO KNOW:

Where did Neil come from in Scotland?
What was Nancy's(Ann? Agnes?) surname? b date & place in Scotland?
Where did they get married?
When did he come to Canada?

Any help re Neil or any of his children greatly appreciated! Thank you!
