Author: Erebus
Subject: Tyrant

“Bludgeon. Rose. I trust you are both well.”

Erebus stood with his back to his comrades, yet spoke in a commanding voice not the first among his men dared to test. His comrades stood behind him several feet, watching the statuesque features of his broad shoulders and thick neck with only a slight fear. Most of Erebus’s minions were terrified of him, unknowing of the limits his rage could potentially reach. Bludgeon and Rose, on the other hand, had been with him for a long time, and knew he trusted them explicitly. Very few people around Erebus could claim to be that close to him.

“We are very well, as always, milord.”

Erebus detected the urgent tone in his right hand man’s voice. His eyebrow rose, and he spun around to face Bludgeon. “You have information, Bludgeon? Keep me in suspense, no longer! Out with it, lad! Out with it!”

Bludgeon knew Erebus’s anxiety was rightly placed, so he kept him waiting no longer. “Sir, Spectre has been spotted. We know his exact location, and even have a man tailing him as we speak. We could grab him now, but we found it wiser to consult you first. Mayhap you would want to be involved in his apprehension yourself…”

Erebus smiled, yet shook his head. Bludgeon was wise in consulting him first, but Erebus had other things to attend to in the mean time. “No, Bludgeon. I respect you for asking me, but I have…other engagements currently. Perceptor has called on Nightshade to make an appearance at the Council. I have no doubt that he’s curious as to Batbot’s whereabouts, and will be sending myself and another after him, most likely. So, no, I shall be declining the opportunity to seize Spectre personally, but I look forward to…greeting him upon my return.”

Bludgeon and Rose nodded their heads in silence. Rose’s smaller, diminutive frame looked almost out of place next to Bludgeon’s grotesque form. Her slim, rounded body stood seductively, leaning up against Bludgeon. Physical contact with those around her was a signature character quirk (or perk for whomever she wound up touching). Bludgeon, on the other hand, was the opposite. He preferred keeping his physical distance from those around him. While he didn’t mind Rose’s closeness, he knew he could do without it.

“Bludgeon, I do not want you making a public appearance yet. As far as the Council is concerned, you are no longer with this world, and I want them to continue thinking such for a while. Rose, you instead will take a small team out after Spectre. I want him taken, quietly but publicly. Make sure you are seen, but don’t get caught. Bludgeon, you are to stay here and run this mission behind the scenes. You understand, of course, so I shan’t take any more of your time. Now, be gone, the both of you. I’ve places to go. I expect Spectre to be here waiting for me upon my return.”

They nodded to him, and turned towards the door as he shifted his gaze out of the left eye of Unicron, the behemoth that attacked Cybertron years ago. It was here, in Cybertron’s largest symbol of freedom, that he and his Cherem plotted against their homeland, here that he and his first followers had set up shop behind the prying eyes of the Cybertronian government. Here. The last place anyone would think to look.

Though Unicron could not destroy Cybertron years ago, he would yet play a part in its downfall. Erebus would make sure of it.

Erebus closed his eyes. Within a second, his body shifted into another, smaller form. Thin wings shot up and out of his shoulders, where a black cape had been previously. His broad shoulders shrunk into a much smaller frame, and his massive height drew into itself, bringing about a shorter, Technorganic Predacon form.

Erebus no longer stood looking out over Cybertron. Instead, Nighshade turned his back on his planet, and opened a teal portal into a familiar room, where he masqueraded as an ally to those he cursed as enemies. The Cybertronian Council suspected nothing of Erebus, and would not until it was far too late. With an evil grin upon his slender face, Nightshade stepped into the portal.

And silence swept across the inside of the remains of a tyrant.
