Subject: *Journeys Off, But Not Before Her Meal*

After a night spent amidst these beautiful lands, Awohali decides she is hungry, and goes out for a trip.

Before beginning, the black wolf takes a long drink from the pond, and now, refreshed, carries on.

The falling leaves twirl before Awohali's eyes, and she inhales the scent of autumn. She travels almost to the border on the other side of this territory, scenting constantly for the signs of something...anything.

Suddenly, the smell of rich meat is caught in an updraft, and Awohali instantly follows it. After only a few short minutes, the canine finds herself before a small clearing, and, to her luck, discoveres a few does, two bucks, and their fawns.

She licks her chops, scents for the weakest fawn, and decides on one that has fallen into sleep in a small bed of lush grass. Its mother is close by, but possibly pre-occupied.

Slowly, carefully, Awohali slinks behind the sleeping deer. She is concealed behind only a small boulder, but that is enough for her to get a good shot. Without warning, the jet wolf leaps out from behind the boulder and only has to run a few feet before grabbing the fawn's neck between her jaws. It had almost no time to react.

The mother, however, reacts almost instantly to the short cry of her offspring, but by then, the little animal's life has gone, and Awohali runs off confidently to eat it, even when the doe chases her for a few yards.

Once finished, and safley out of reach of the angered ungulate, Awohali drinks deeply again from the pond, takes a small dip in its cool, serene waters, then heads off towards the sunset, and the scent of piney mountains.
