Ooops. I completely forgot something when I wrote this. The Volpures on VENTORAIN, where the dwarves are, are more primitive and barbaric. Some live in mountains by the dwarves in crude villages and such, and others live in the desert to the south and basically have much more vulture than man in them. Closest race comparison- Half-orcs. Usually cast as the villain's henchmen or bodyguards, they occasionaly churn out an adventurer.
Volpures on ALACAR are more like Zephyrs, living in cities on mountains. THey are generally more civilized. SciFiWiz has a sheet detailing the different breeds of Alacarian Volpures.
No one knows if there are Volpures on Coranis. There's no evidence of them, but Volpures aren't the most out-going race.

Also... if you are a human ranger, than you may be from the Forest of the Rangers (Eastwood), north by northeast of Dwarven Hill.
