In reply to: A long-time F3 fan 's message, "Expanding class B or add class C?" on 09:50:58 10/29/02 Tue GMT+8

I bought a VX lotus that was an arpf3 car. I put it into mono. I bought an ralt rt35 very cheaply with the thought putting that into mono replacing the vw spice with a std road engine. I dipped my toe into the water with arpf3 this year and have won races in mono in an rt3 with a vx engine in it. I bought the VL and asked Broster if I could run in arpf3 and he explained to me the difference in dynamics between f3 and VL. His words have proved to be quite right.

I found there is a fundamental difference in the dynamics between the two types of cars, especially braking and handleing. The VL is an absolute doddle to drive at 90% but an F3 is quite a lot harder (have not driven 98,99,00,01 cars though).

Now I feel the two I feel do not mix, even though I did before. My personal satisfaction his increased by driving my ralt rt35 even with with all my years in motorsport.

I have now heard that more emphasis is being put on the new masters (b) class and stability within the rules and some 3 at least races televised. I am now looking forward concentrating my efforts on my b class ralt and instead of putting money into an a class car, put money into the b clas car and do more testing.

Thank you the Grays family for enabling this.

What finally did it for me was at donnington last week when the weather was appalling and when to 24 ish f3 cars pulled out into the pit lane for the '3' laps it was a great sightand it sounded great, everyone in the pit lane and the other races turned out to look. Also with the bigger grid racing was better to watch and take part in.

Do yourself a favour sell your Vaux Lotus and pick a b sorry masters class car quickly before the word gets out and the prices go up.

Best regards Alan Everitt
