Hi everyone. Tess, I just read your post on the burgler having a thing for wet laundry. LMAO.
I had a very good experience with the State Patrol this time. I was able to get through the entire file. Things were popping up left and right. The memories, bad ones. But, in my mind, and I did voice this to the detective, the 3 top suspects were willing to testify against someone else, but...only when they were in jail or prison and wanted thier time reduced. I told the guy that they were all full of BS and I wouldn't take thier word for anything. Here is a kicker, my uncle, BAD MAN, wanted his sentence reduced and made up a bunch of stories to give to the cops to get his time reduced. He was in for rape, 3 time in. CREAP. They told him that they needed more information but he decided he needed to talk to his lawyer first. I told the detective to just erase that guy. Anyone who would rape two of his nieces, and countless other women needed to be in prison. He did end up killing himself when he went to jail and he would have been sent back to prison for the 4th. time. I guess he just erased himself. Did all the women in that area a favor. For him to use his dead sister to get his time reduced, lets just say it made me nuts!!!!
Here is a good thing. I was looking at all the evidece that they had, it was written down of course. I looked through it at least three times. Not sure why. I came across the fact that they had my mom's original wedding rings that she got married to my dad with about 50yrs. ago. I started crying. I asked the guy if there was anyway I could get them. He made a phone call and came back and said YES!!!! It was bitter sweet.And...he will drive the 2 hours to the evidence room to get them and take them back to the patrol office and I'm going to go down and pick them up.
I owe that detective a lot!!! He has been so kind. He tells me the reason that we like him so much is because we are on the right side of the law. When they have to play good cop bad cop, he is the bad cop. Just hard for me to picture.
Unfortunatly in this case, we eliminated 3 people, but brought one more back into the suspect line.
Ok, here is the problem. The state patrol, like a lot of other places, have had cut backs. Very soon they may lose another detective. That will put them down to, 2 guys, and that is to cover a 16 county area. So obviously this case will still be on the back burner. But, some good news, he said that he would work with Unsolved Mysteries if I wanted to contact them. I can't give them much info, but the detective can tell them what he wants to.
Tess, I read your post on Cold Case Files. I think one time I looked them up and they wanted cases that were old, but had just recently been solved. Not sure, I will look it up again.
I want to thank all of you for your prayers and well wishes, I don't know what I would do without you!!! I came back this time with a very good feeling. Sure hope they can get more funding to get more detectives. The trip was long and all the roads were bumpy, boy did I hurt once we got to the motel. On the trip home, I took a lot of time to think. Mike kept asking if I was ok. I was fine, was just thinking. Supose I had smoke coming out of my ears?
Love to all of you, Nancy
