I'd raise my hand but it hurts to bad to get my hand above my elbow. LOL

Actually, overall it wasn't too bad. There was NO money for Christmas so I didn't do all that mad dash shopping trying to find the "perfect" gift for everyone. I couldn't life the boxes of Christmas decoration out from under the stairs so now I don't have lots of stuff to clean up. My sisters both invited us to dinner with their families, one on Christmas Eve to celebrate the twins birthday and the other the Monday before to celebrate the reason we have Christmas. My kids were great. They didn't get hung up on the "present" or "Santa Claus" thing, but they are older (youngest is almost 16). They found ways to give that didn't cost anything, i.e., my daughter raided the pantry to give to "Quarters and Cans" at her school.

If I could do it this way again I would. I'm seriously thinking that Christmas next year will be celebrated with the same spirit regardless of the money situation. The best part was my husband finally told his family that we would NOT be particpating in the picking of names (every year somebody gets hurt and it's usually one of the children). They got the point and hopefully we'll not revert back to the old ways that make us stressed and unhappy when we should be giving and trying to help others in more need than we are. One of the kids found a study that said most Christmas charity is given by people at the poverty level. Isn't that sad? We are far from poverty stricken but I'm so happy my kids stepped up and made it a Christmas to remember.

I hope all of you are as pain-free as possible and enjoyed the holidays. I know they aren't over, New Years is just a few days away, but most of it's over so hopefully life can settle down and we can all get back onto our personal pain programss instead of pushing ourselves to do more and more.

Love you all,
Alison
