You could say a VCD is a cheap imitation of a DVD playable anywhere in the world where the episodes may finish on Disc One or Disc Two depending on your luck, or the manufacturer's whim. The end of the first episode also runs into the second episode which makes it rather difficult to determine where it finishes and starts. They are usually single layered hence their capacity to only store less than an hour of data, as opposed to up to eight with DVD's. They're from Penang, Malaysia, where they are released at the same time as in cinemas, unlike here in OZ!
