~The femme stepped onto the Sands, jade oculi meandering around the area, shaded by the black locks of unruly short hair. She sighed, it wasn't often the she could tame the black hair, only stretching to her ears. Smoothing it down a little, she surveyed the eggs, emerald hues fially finding the queen egg. She walked further, the scorching heat of the Sands barely felt even though her sandals were thin. Years of being a holdless had hardened her feet so that she could walk through just about anything. She watched, fidgeting incessantly, trying to think of some way to get rid of her excess energy. An amiable smile donned her features and she retreated from the eggs, selecting a spot void of people and dragons. She took a running start and began a series of flips, doubles, ariels, anything she could think to do. Finally, she fell back in the sand, winded but smiling. Every time she did that it always mad her feel better..although sometimes it made her feel sore. She brushed the sand off the ivory white Impression robe, not really caring much that it was a bit dirty, and walked back over to where she had been standing earlier. She glanced at the two girls who had already arrived, still smiling. Giving a silent wave and grinning, she turned towards her ever present memories, turning each over in her mind as they ran with her current thoughts.~

=A blood bay stallion raced across the flat trail, ahead of a train of wagons, two other equines behind it. The black haired femme crouched low to the horse's withers, riding bareback unlike the other two adolescents. They were riding point for the teams. Slowing to a halt, she let the pair catch up, circling the high strung horse. She grinned at her comrades, twins named Atreal and Emily; the three were friends, all at 15 Turns old, doing anything and everything together, though Ralkira seemed to be the leader. The pair stopped and laughed, chattering together as the horses rested, the words meaningless now=

+Ralkira sat on the top of an overturned wagon, watching everyone below her. Those who had survived were few and far between. Atreal had lived, but her twin had not. Atreal and Ralkira sat atop the wagon with a few of the other children, though all of them were to young to understand what had happened. Thread had falln out of order and caught them off guard. the femme balled her hands into fists and chewed on her lip, making the decision that she would help to stop this menace by becoming a dragonrider.+

~The youth shook her head and gazed at the eggs once more, enthralled and amazed at the stunning creatures that would soon hatch from them. Strangely enough, something furry touched the back of her leg, making her freeze in fear for a split second. By the..wait a minute..She looked down at her robes. A ball of white and brown fur sat at her heels, and she grinned and sat down. The wolfish looking hound scrambled into her lap, brown muzzle licking her face.~ "Pheonix!! Cut it out!! I told you to stay in the rooms until I got back!!" ~She sighed and fished around in the pack she had slung over her shoulder. Retrieving the long leather cord, she tied it loosely around the dog's neck before tying it on her wrist. The canine consented to remaining in her lap as the pair waited for the hatching. Ralkira had found the pup by the side of the dirt-packed road she had traveled along on her way here. Still wanting a companion since her horse had died in the Threadfall, she decided to take him in. Succeeding in taming the pup, she called him Pheonix after her stallion. The duo sat, both watching through jade orbs as Amenth watched her eggs, everyone expectant. She sat cross legged in the Sand, a little away from the other Candidates, listlessly playing with the short locks of black hair as Pheonix lie near her, chewing on a piece of dried wherry meat that she had given the mutt earlier, it's frosty green eyes alive with emotion. She watched her dog, his features making him seem like he had the same wicked but mysteriously calm grin the the femme posessed. She snapped her fingers and the wolf hound came closer sitting in her lap as she rubbed behind his ears, petting him softly and muttering under her breath. The pink tongue lolled out of Pheonix's mouth and he gave a yawn, settling himself down to take a nap. She gave an amiable smile, jade orbs soft and warm. She took the dog out of her lap and got out the small blanket she had for him down on the sand, laying him on it. Attaching the leather cord around her wrist, she sat cross legged once more, closing her eyes and going into an alert doze.~

+Ralkira walked down the dirt road, heavy feet thudding along dully. She had been travelling for days and seen nothing but dirt and shrubs. Sand and grit fly swiftly through the air, clinging to anything and everything it finds, but the holdless trudged willingly on. She saw something moving in the dirt by the road, a white and bron furry little form. She ran toward where it lay and picked it up out of the sand gently. It was a pup, large of paw and wolfish, bruised but alive. The femme had cared for it until it was able to walk, and the pair became attached. She named him after her stallion, Pheonix, and the duo made a bond between themselves.+

~The youth snapped out of her doze. She smiled remembering when she had found the half-dead pup. Pheonix watched his owner, as if he could read her mind. the pairs eyes met, and Koryn grinned the unmistakable silly, daring smile, and sat in the Sands, white robes already showing the recent and hard wear they had been given Koryn, weary of the day and the heat, sought the shadows to find relief, under the sloping walls where it was still slightly cool, where the sun had not yet touched.~
