Author: Yriu & Jumi
Subject: Gazing

The short and direct Yriu sits and watches the scape with her patient dark gaze. She smiles at the young and the eager who flit in and scamper for a place to watch the hatching. Her eyes drop to her own white Canidate's robes, and she brushes the fabric absently. Did this mean she was part of it all? Would she really have a crack at Impressing a dragon? It was so hard to believe, yet here she was. The hot sand beneath her touch confirmed the fact, as well as the almost insistent breeze that grazed her cheeks and whipped sand in mildly irritating gusts across her thin fabric clad arms.

"Yriu, whatcha thinkin' about?" Jumi's innocent gaze swims into her vision, the younger woman's long hair draping across one shoulder.

"My twenty three turns alone. And my first days on my own, after Jev'ess and Rydenkth died." She says simply, not letting her gaze focus on Jumi.

"Oh." The younger girl slumps back at this simple answer, unsure where to proceed. The trouble with Yriu, Jumi decided, was that she was too direct and no one knew where to take things with her. Watching the sun dance across the hatching sands, Jumi fidgets in anticipation. A dragon would be something, a dragon would share the sky with her.

Yriu continues to search for something, anything, in the surrounds. Her lank hair and rather square frame give testament to her solidity, nothing short of a fire would move her from her self appointed sentinel station. Jumi begins to sift absently through the sand, sending puffs of dust and grains out into the wind. Yriu's eyes follow the path the grains take, before turning ever to the nest. The time was soon, and she would not miss it.
