Author: R'tor & Zircath
Subject: (The first! The first! Everywhere! Hee hee!) Full from his feed at the Bowl, Zircath peers curiously at the new surroundings.

What is this place? What happens here? He asks, craning his delicate neck back and forth. R'tor smiles and searches for a warm soapy pail. Finding one, he proceeds to gently wash the remains of egg and hatching from Zircath. The hatchling shuts his eyes and croons, delighted with the treatment.

"Like it? And then, oil. You'll need oiling alot, so get used to it." He smiles and rinses Zircath thoroughly. Fetching a square, slightly used cloth, he proceeds to oil the baby methodically.

It stops the itching. And look at me! He peers into the bucket and sees a fractured relfection in the shimmering oil. I look great, now. He flaps his tiny wings and glances at R'tor.

"You're a concieted thing, aren't you? But you're mine, now." R'tor sheens the bronze to a sinewy grace and stands back to examine his work. "Not too bad, if I do say so myself. Weryling Barracks, now. It's been a long day for both of us."

Sleep sounds good to me, too. I don't think I could stay on one of those perches. The youngster eyes the big sleeping spots with awe. Soon, though. They stagger tiredly toward the barracks, supporting each other carefully.
