Topic—Master Builders

Power Point—We hold in our possession the "eternal life saving" techniques to save many a drowning soul.

This Week’s Memory Verse—2 Corinthians 5:18

Access Database—Jude 17–23

Invasion of the Body Snatchers

by Eric Partin

When training to become a lifeguard, you must not only learn life-saving techniques, but you must also be proficient in CPR and first aid. The knowledge you attain may save the life of a loved one or even a stranger in an emergency situation. It also proves to be helpful in day-to-day life. When you take CPR or first aid, an instructor will guide you through the proper steps of life saving techniques. He’ll also give you a manual to study. You learn how to accurately assess any emergency situation in which you may find yourself. You learn how to make critical decisions quickly. You learn what it takes to save a life from death and destruction.

Just as it is important to learn first aid for the human body, it is even more important to learn First Aid for the human soul. God commanded us in Jude 23 to rescue others by snatching them out of the fire. He has given us His Word to prepare us for emergency situations and the day-to-day crises of life. His Word teaches us to evaluate any situation in which we find ourselves by giving us commands and guidelines to live by. We then have the ability to make critical decisions quickly. We know what the right answer is—without having to rely on the opinions of others. He gives us understanding of how we are saved from death and how to save other people from the jaws of death.

When you take a first aid or CPR class, you may have a very good instructor, but unless you study your handbook and practice the things they teach you, the class is of no benefit. Proverbs 2:1–6 says that when you truly seek for understanding, that God will give it to you. Seeking means that you must pray and search for it in the scriptures. The Bible is your handbook for administering first aid to a dying world. It brings life and prosperity, but best of all it enables you to "snatch people from the fire" and minister "eternal first aid" to someone.

Do you know someone who could use eternal first aid?

Now go back and read Jude 17–23 one more time.
