• Skye watched Chaftar for a few moments as if evaluating what would be the best way to approach to attack again. A light breeze kicked up the dust at Skye's feet giving her an idea. Almost unconciously she built up a medium-sized pile of dust at her feet and then without warning she kicked the pile. It rose in a cloud of dust making it difficult to see Skye, however as she ran towards Chaftar her footsteps could still be easily heard. She ran on intending to grab Chaftar by the shoulders and knee him in the stomach if she could find him in the cloud. (NT) -- Skye, 15:12:51 04/09/05 Sat

  • Kia shakes her head in surprise as Terra (who had been standing in front of her) dissapeared. She is further surprised to see the large snakes suddenly appear in this realm.   • Guide continues to shake, and seems incapable of coherent thought so long as the snakes are nearby. The snakes themselves calm down after a few seconds and pause, still clutching the helpless human. They ignore Kia and Naverin for the moment. A low guttural hiss emerges, at first its just below hearing, but it quickly rises in volume until it is deafening. Surprisingly, everyone merely gets the impression that a question has just been asked. Guide falls to the floor...the floor that is merely a section of sky with gravity, held up by her own magic...Ario would be the first to notice that what once felt as solid as thick glass or ice now feels like slowly sinking sand. • Kraven mutters through the side of his lips to Chaftar, "It's been a while. I don't know how you fight now, but I trust you." he then drops any kind of battle posture and starts to calmly walk towards Skye.   • Kraven's movement is unheard of. All his muscles are relaxed, and he walked in one motion, as if strolling down a street. He doesn't even seem to be paying any attention to where he's going, or who he's about to face. In this manner he gently glides into striking distance, but no further. It's curious. He seems to be just within reach. To get any real power into her shots, Skye would need to move towards him now, since he's stopped. It's worth mention that Kraven probably has a longer reach...   • OOC: Welcome home, child! You got his approach exactly right. BIC: Kraven felt the legs against him and thought ahead. As Nia heaved him (and it really would be a heave. Kraven is pretty heavy.) He tucked his head down and threw his legs up. It caused him to flip off of Nia, instead of going flying.     • The arrow pierces through the cube, but the strange substance simply slows the projectile down. About halfway into the 6-foot wide cube, the arrow comes to a complete halt. The cube stops for a moment, then moves towards the direction that Naverin dodged in, without turning to "face" her ((indicating, btw, that it has no face.)). It doesn't move any faster than a normal walking pace, but something about it calls for the word "relentless." Clouds drift past your feet and the grass now looks like the sky.   • OOC: Which under normal circumstances, never happens. Alas. BIC: Terra and Kia spend quite some time staring at each other before Terra decides to give in. Normally she can wait hours for the opponent to move first, but she was eager to get some serious practice. Easing one toe forward, she begins to advance within striking range. Watching her move is kind of disturbing. She walks like water, taking one brief step and then gliding back into position in smooth and continuous motion. The effect is quite hypnotic. It was pretty long, too...I'll condense it quickly: BIC: Terra steps back with the leg that was being kicked at, putting her into a traditional kendo stance, with weight equally balanced on each leg. She then "tsugiaches" forward (a shuffle move, but it's pretty quick. It moves forward without taking a step, so if you start with the right leg forward, it stays forward.) She then attempts to throw a punch at Kia's back, aiming straight down at the spine with an open palm.       • As soon as Kia felt her kick miss she started to roll but before she could complete the roll Terra's downward thrust caught her on the right shoulder (in the front). • The prints enter the river, and the indents in soft muddy bottom tells him that whoever made these tracks made them very recently. Chafter looks onward, and his intuition was correct. As the man crossed onto the other bank, his footprints split into several tracks. The wandering man must've walked one way, back tracked into the shallows of the river, made more tracks, and returned at least twice more. 3 distinct trails leave the bank at different angles. Even a skilled tracker would have to admire how fast the man had to have been moving. It's unclear which of the three is the most recent, but Chaftar is able to rule out one of the sets of tracks, since it's all dried up. The man can't be far at all, if he took the time to do this.
