Kal'nith puts on a surprising turn of speed and she leaps and dances through the clouds northward. After a short time, soft, high-pitched howls can be heard in the distance. Kal'nith seems unconcerned. ‘I've never traveled like this with a human before. I assume that your natural magic will sustain you, but we should not leave the borders of the swamp.' Even though everyone is moving quickly, Chaos does surprisingly well. Sudden spurts of speed allow him to be well ahead of the rest. Seconds after he is lost from view, the howls of summoning are silences, replaced with loud snarls just on the other side of the clouds.

Chaos is first to clear the last bank of clouds and see the group. Kal'nith and Naverin enter the cloud shortly after, but somewhere in the midst of the cloud Kal'nith vanishes. Naverin emerges alone, and a great distance away from Chaos. Her stomach feels slightly ill, as if she was jerked suddenly. A large clearing separates the two humans, with a massive fight occurring in the middle...

The wolves seem to have met some opposition. Large, ghostly, deeply black serpents are attacking the group, wrapping themselves around the wolves and squeezing, avoiding the use of their gigantic fangs. The serpents are wider than most oak tree trunks, and it's difficult to see the entire length of their body hidden in the clouds. ((for those who like specifics, they're about 4 feet in diameter around the thickest part of their body, and maybe 100-200 feet in length. The size of a mature tree and the length of one–or two, I haven't decided just yet—football field.)) The wolves are in a bit of a frenzy, biting and clawing at this sudden strike. Neither group appears to have noticed you.
