• OOC: Um...Actually, the thing he was holding in his pocket wasn't a ball, it was a few dead leaves. And...The fur in his nether-reigons is actually quite thick. He wouldn't have dropped like that. That is termed 'Auto-hitting,' and I really don't appreciate it. But, for the sake of argument, I'm willing to let this slide once. Just don't do that, alright?   • "You won't get anythin' outta me! Get off!" The hunter struggles slightly, but instead of truly fighting he simply reaches into his vest. Jerking his arm out quickly, he flings some dust into the air, then takes a deep breath before it can settle. He holds his breath, waiting for either of you to inhale.   • A few seconds after inhaling, Skye begins to feel incredibly dizzy. It's difficult to tell whether or not the ceiling is a wall, and the walls are the floor. It gives quite the headache. (NT) -- Fate, 08:56:31 10/24/04 Sun
• Skye blinks, dazed. The room seemed to be spinning and blood pounded in her ears. She seemed detached from what was happening and dropped her sword (as it was against the man's back it falls at his side).   • "Ha!" The man shoves away from both of you and stands to be above the dust, "It's too late now. You'll both wind up that way!" He starts digging underneath the furs, chanting something slowly. (NT) -- Fate, 11:47:57 10/25/04 Mon

• OOC: Sorry Fate, it won't happen again. IC: Nia sees the dust fly into the air and quickly covers her nose and mouth with the edge of her cloak, not quick enough to avoid breathing in a small amount of the dust and is slightly stunned when the hunter pushes aside. Nia knows she can't resist the man alone so lies on the ground watching him rumage through the fur and waiting for an oppertunity. (NT) -- Nia, 00:06:11 10/26/04 Tue

    • After a small wait, the symptoms clear, but the sense of lost balance remains. It'll be hard to stand properly for any amount of time. (NT) -- Fate, 11:49:26 10/27/04 Wed
• OOC: Don't worry about it, Nia. I ought to warn both of ya that I'll be going out of town for this weekend, and probably won't post until Saturday evening or Sunday morning. If one of you wants to take over until then, I'll let ya. BIC: The hunter fishes out what he was searching for, a small bundle of feathers wrapped in sting so tightly it looks like black lace. The ball-charm is suspended on a twist of yellowed yarn. After seeing that both of you are still on the ground, he sways the strange object from side to side on its short leash. The effect is hypnotic. After roughly ten seconds of uninterrupted chanting, the cry of a large flock of birds can be heard in the distance outside. It would appear that the noise is growing louder and the birds are coming closer. The hunter grins, "I've been perfecting this for years. Take comfort, fools, in knowing that you witness the next generation of trapping and hunting. Some new friends of mine are coming, and they're very angry..." (NT) -- Fate, 11:58:30 10/27/04 Wed
  • Skye attempted to stand up but collapsed again on wobbly legs. She looked to Nia for help. They needed to find a way out of this and find out how to stop the birds. (NT) -- Skye, 14:53:05 10/27/04 Wed
    • Skye's position actually gave her a clear view of someting Nia might not be able to see. In the hunter's free hand he held some sort of flute. He kept on pushing the notes, although no sound emerges. How could it? There was no breath, and no wind to create noise. Still, he continues to play with the ocarina-like object. -- Fate, 19:18:31 10/31/04 Sun
      • Skye noticed the flute and moved herself into a crouching posistion. It looked like she was trying to stand up again. Instead of standing though she jumped for the flute. -- Skye, 05:10:00 11/01/04 Mon
      • The hunter is also expecting her to stand up, and is caught off guard when she leaps at him. Stepping backward wildly, he trips and falls over, throwing the flute behind him. It spins uselessly on the floor. Even without the flute, the birds are still coming, although the hunter now looks terrified. (NT) -- Fate, 05:56:24 11/04/04 Thu
• Skye scrabbles for the flute. She can still hear the birds coming but wonders if there's a way they can use it to stop them. She manages to get the flute and places her fingers over the holes, though she isn't sure whether she should attempt to play or just move her fingers as the man had done (NT) -- Skye, 14:24:10 11/04/04 Thu
• OCC: Sorry I'm not online much were getting Broadband back in a while so I'll be on much more frequently then. BIC: "Give me the flute," Nia said, sitting up and grabbing the flute out of Skyes unsure hands. She quickly started to play, blowing while moving her fingers in teh same patterns as the hunter. A calm and steady melody flowed from the instrument. (NT) -- Nia, 21:28:58 11/05/04 Fri

  • OOC: Alrighty, Nia. No problemo. BIC: By now a small flurry of feathered creatures has arrived. They start to just wildly fly around the room, attack things at random. It is during this frenzy that the flute begins to play. As one the birds stop and land on the ground, watching the notes intently. After a short while, they all peck at the ground simultaneously. After a few more notes they stop. The hunter whispers, "It's the sound...Stop playing, child. You're just copin' me. You're about to play the dangerous bit." He sounds frightened, but strangely subdued. (NT) -- Fate, 19:20:21 11/06/04 Sat

• Nia's lips curl into a smile around the mouthpeice of the flute and she quickly whips the mans flute from her mouth replacing it with her own. She has been charming the forest with her flute playing ever since her father taught her how to play (OCC: I didn't pull this out of thin air. I made it up when I made Nia up.) so using her own flute she began a much calmer lullaby tune. (NT) -- Nia, 23:17:56 11/08/04 Mon
  • OOC: Noted. That's plausible, and works just fine. Oh, and I apologize, Skye. There really wasn't much for you to do back there. BIC: The birds respond well. When the calmer tune is played they start to drift off, the hunter's spell broken. After a short while all other creatures leave, and the hunter is now alone. He looks strangely embarrassed.
