• OOC: So sorry about the wait! I feel terrible! There was just no way I could get on around the end of the term. BIC: The night air flows past the small camp, making the leaves dance and rustle. A bird calls deeper into the forest, and another replies. Time passes. The branches of the tree above Nadia's head give a sudden shake and are still. Small yellow eyes peer downward, blinking. Something slithers closer, shaking a branch. A nut falls off and hits Nadia on the head. (NT) -- Fate, 14:43:20 11/04/02 Mon
• "Ouch!" Nadia wakes up with a start and rubs her head. She sees the nut that hit her head. She looks up and decides that the wind must have blown it off a branch, so she tries to fall asleep. (NT) -- Nadia, 18:37:04 11/05/02 Tue
• The creature freezes when Nadia moves, but as she moves back towards sleep, it proceeds down the tree, to land by Nadia's bag. It sticks out delicate paws and fiddles with the strap until it opens. Gurgling happily it quickly crawls inside. (NT) -- Fate, 20:40:51 11/05/02 Tue
• As the sun rose and morning came, Nadia woke up and gazed at the forest all around her. "Well, let's have some breakfast." She gathers some leaves and sticks so she could get a fire going. When she got it started, she went to her sack to where she could find her food. When she opened it and peered inside, she saw the creature and gave a high-pitched screech, dropping the bag instantly. • Another even higher pitched noise emanates from the bag, followed by a continues whistle. The creature sticks out one brown furred paw, grips the ground with small claws, and pulls itself out. A tiny, indignant, monkey-like creature sits on the ground in front of Nadia. (NT) -- Fate, 22:47:31 11/08/02 Fri
• When Nadia saw the little monkey, her heart melted. It was so cute! "Ohh, I'm sorry little monkey. I didn't mean to scare you. But you have to admit, you gave me quite a startling welcome." She takes the bag and pulls out cooking utinsels. "Are you hungry? I'll make you something to eat." (NT) -- Nadia, 13:12:05 11/10/02 Sun
• The creature stops its wailing abruptly. Eyes wide, it approaches Nadia and puts a forepaw lightly on her leg, peering eagerly at the cooking supplies. It gurgles cheerfully, and then lets out a piercing whistle. (NT) -- Fate, 20:58:24 11/10/02 Sun
• Nadia lets out a little chuckle. "All right, then. I can make some eggs and sausages. How does that sound?" She pulls out the materials she needs and starts to cook. (NT) -- Nadia, 17:01:56 11/11/02 Mon
• The creature climbs on top of Nadia's head and winds its tail around her neck. It whistles again. Suddenly there's more rustling in the bushes. More monkey creatures, a whole group of them, appear in the clearing. (NT) -- Fate, 17:16:14 11/12/02 Tue
• "Why did you call your friends? I don't have enough food for all of you. Well, I guess I can give it a try." She scrambles some eggs and puts them in a bowl before the creatures. (NT) -- Nadia, 20:01:57 11/15/02 Fri
• The creatures respond by moving towards the bowl, gurgling excitedly. The original one jumps off of Nadia and gives a commanding shriek. It runs to the bowl and grabs a bit of egg. It sniffs it and then shoves it into its mouth. The others wait, watching it closely. The first chews, swallows, and gives a satisfactory sigh. It bounds out of the way as all the rest of the creatures dive at the bowl, emptying it in a matter of moments. The first one, who appears to be their leader, jumps back onto Nadia's shoulder. • "Hey, now what do you want? I need to make some breakfast for myself, so if you would kindly get off my shoulder." Nadia gently puts the monkey creature down with the others. "I'm sorry, but I don't have much food to give you. You're going to have to go somewhere else to find food." She starts cooking herself some grub, hoping that the monkey creatures would go away. • The creature considers Nadia, and then lets out another piercing whistle. The other creatures freeze. In complete synchrony, they reply with a series of deafening chirps. Suddenly, they disappear into the forest. The leader is the only one left. It chatters happily at Nadia before it too disappears. (NT) -- Fate, 09:32:57 11/23/02 Sat
• "Well, I guess they were thankful for that." (OOC: and what a day to be thankful wink wink) BIC: Nadia finished cooking her breakfast and she ate it delicately. When she finished, she packed up her things and set off towards the volcanoes. (NT) -- Nadia, 11:51:19 11/28/02 Thu
• Nothing untoward happens as she continues through the forest. She comes out onto the foothills of the volcanoes just past afternoon. The foothills are devoid of almost all life; a barren place with the craggy ring of volcanoes rising in the background. (NT) -- Fate, 15:30:05 11/28/02 Thu
• Nadia started to feel scared as she looked at the volcanoes. "I think I should practice some more sling shooting." She takes the sling from its place at her right hip and loads a pebble. She aims at a nearby boulder and hits it. "Hey, I should load up on amunition." She looks around for nice sized rocks and collects them in her pouch. (NT) -- Nadia, 19:37:18 12/02/02 Mon

• (OCC: Sorry I haven't written in a while.) Nadia picks up rocks that seem to be the right size. She loads her pouch and examines the boulder she was recently hitting. "Hmmm, where do I hit the dragon so I can get control over it?" She puzzled this, then started sending rocks at the boulder with the sling. After she was satisfied, but still unsure, she loaded her bag again and started to slowly walk closer and closer to the volcanoe. (NT) -- Nadia, 13:08:51 12/20/02 Fri
• Evening falls around Nadia. The volcanoes seem to glow in the half-light, and the rocks lying on the ground cast odd shadows. (NT) -- Fate, 15:16:32 12/20/02 Fri
• Nadia watches as night approaches. "Wow, the day has gone by so fast." She pulls out her cooking utinsels for the 3rd time that day, and attempts to start a fire. With all attempts, it won't start. "Shoot! Well, I guess I'll just have to eat my food cold." She rips off a chunk of bread and eats it delicately, while her eyes darted back and forth. Being afraid because she had no light, she kept her sling handy. (NT) -- Nadia, 12:29:13 12/23/02 Mon
