The Vhena paused here, typical friendly voice lowering to a simple monotone growl. "We will assume that they are, until we can prove that they are not." The voice returned to norml. "So assuming that they are alive... they'd want a new transmitter. So we seek the city. And then we seek any beast that can make such technology. Get to know the natives. Learn what's going on, and at the same time find the Welphie and the Olashi.. dead... or alive."

The Vhena smiled wryly now, "And if you kill each other on the way, I'll not be the beast filling out the paperwork."

Paws curved beneath his body... and the mercenary took off, and was gone.
