Subject: Princess in disguise

Veli let the cloak fall to her shoulders, and drop as she dismounted her stallion. She tethered him carefully to a tree limb, and managed to find a dry log that had not begun to rot. She opened her bottle of wine carefully, and poured herself a small glass of wine. The rich red color of the Black wine was almost the same hue as her new dress...
Thinking of her new dress, she slipped it out of its careful covering. She held it to her shoulders, letting the skirts fall to the ground. Her shoulders twitched, and the dress fell more smoothly. The neckline was too low, however. She would have to wear another blouse or something under it.
Veli removed her tattered black dress to put on a non-tattered black dress. She reshaped the hood, but her hair made it stand out. She brushedher hair quickly, then let it fall to her waist. She quickly twisted it into a bun, a nd secured it with a hair bow bearing her tiara crossed with a sword crest.
She adjusted a ring that glinted on her left hand. Of purest ruby, set in purest gold, it had been an engagement ring from that slob of a prince. Veralida twisted it off, and threw it across the forest with a vengeance.
From her small supply of things, she replaces it with am emerald ring that is embossed with a lily of the valley.
Velli checks her hair, and decides to work in her jeweled hair band. The amethysts and emeralds peeked out, with the rubies and diamonds every fourth and fifth gems.
Veli remounts her stallion Star, and covers herself with a cloak, her wine bottle safely tucked into her skirt pockets.
"Let's go check out the PhiaShip Barracks, shall we, Star?"
Veli did not bother to disguise her vboice, whick was like the gentle glide of eagles, the slow slithering of snakes, the richness of thunder, yet the mellowness of silence.
