Author: Victim?
Subject: OOC: What /is/ it with the forum? I replied to five different posts on Monday and not one actually appeared. Sorry, guys. I had a huge post, but inside is the summed version.
In reply to: Dar 's message, "OOC: No worries. I've had my own problems trying to find what messages I was posting on. There was even one time when either voy or my comp. was having a problem and none of the messages showed up. I wrote this frantic/crazed/confuzed post asking about where all the messages went. BIC: Dar nodded as Victim walked away. They seemed to have a lot in common. Their marks for one thing, bad history seemed to be a second and not wanting to talk about said history a third. He looked out to sea again until Victim spoke up about a fishing game. Interested, Dar turned around and called to Victim, "What did you have in mind?"" on 05:07:47 03/22/05 Tue

"Yeah!" Victim grins, "See those poles over there?" he points over to one wall. There were eight poles leaning against the ship, with a tackle box sitting on the deck. "I got those from a clan of mermaids years ago. Well, some of them. One or two are my own personal handiwork." Victim continues grinning and blinks a few times, running over his statement in his head. It seemed normal enough... "Anyway, each pole can summon a different kind of fish, but only if you choose the right lure. The lures are colored, just like the poles, but they all look the same." It was hard to tell in the night light, but Victim spoke the truth. Each pole had a different color. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and silver leaned next to each other. It could be assumed that the same colors were lining the box.

((This is jumping ahead a bit, but each rod has a rune on it. You might notice that, on closer examination, that they have the same rune carved repeatedly along the pole. It is a different rune for each pole. On that note, does anyone on board speak Dwarven and Elven fluently? Speak up, if your character does.))

"So, yeah. Everyone picks one pole and one lure. The right combination summons something really cool! Every pole can do something, except for one, which is a dud. I like the game a lot, but I know which pole and lure to choose to get the best effect. So? What do you say? The game is safe, for the most part, and you don't need to know much about fishing to play."
