The dreamer turned fighter for the moment surveyed the skies and patted Palth quickly, the fragile dragon snorting and crunching firestone hard in her jaws. The phosphine-bearing rock reacted to the chemicals and Palth belched out a gasp of flame, hitting a low-flying clump.

Palth's pale green wings flared briefly as she carried her rider into the clouds, and Maia noted Noel to her right. She flew higher and higher until all else was blocked out besides the Thread. The two waged a silent battle, the one feeding firestone to the other, the pair protecting their beloved homeland.
