Ravn waits impatiently for the second egg to hatch. Elminster, practicing his flying, does all sorts of strange aerial acrobatics before his training is abruptly curtailed when he careens into a dresser. Muffled squeaks and chirps come from the dusty area between the dresser and the wall. Ravn strolls over and extracts his errant friend, then is forced to laugh at his new grey-brown fire-lizard. Before he has time to watch El off, he hears cracking sounds emanating from the nest. He hurries over, then feeds the ravenous creature as soon as she extricates her from the remnants of her prison. Desiring Elminster to grow close with the new-born green, he has El be the first to communicate with the green. I am Elminster. Ravn calls you Raistlin. I will cal you Raist, if I am rushing. We will be friends, I think. Finishing the speech Ravn had carefully schooled him in, he zooms off on another bout of stunt flying. The little green ponders her new name, then decides that she will call herself by a different name when alone.She shakes its wings loose, then waits for them to dry, so she can show that exuberant blue how fly properly
