Subject: I hope I don't make any enemies by trying!

“Ooh.” Rinali’s back protested loudly as she straightened up, leaning on the handle of her broom. The floor of her private weyr was now free from the dust, earth and insects that had invaded it since her last bout of cleaning. Sighing, she blinked tiredly and propped the broom up in the corner.
Lilith watched with intense amusement as her rider began to move her clean furniture back into place. I don’t know why you bother. She remarked. It will only get dirty again!
I like to live in a clean place, even if it’s only for a few weeks! Rinali told her, arranging the ornaments and books on the tables and bookcases, which had now been moved to her satisfaction. She groaned and collapsed in her favourite chair, wincing as her limbs – tired after spending the whole day spring-cleaning – straightened out.
The golden dragon’s eyes whirled purple, and Rinali felt Lilith’s laughter, a faint tickling in the back of her mind. What are you laughing about?
I am just amused that you will spend one whole day each month doing something that you moan about!
Huh. The woman grinned. When I Impressed you they told me that I ‘could well end up being Weyrwoman one day, and cleanliness in a Weyr is essential’ She shook her head. I still feel guilty if I don’t clean up once a month, even after all these years.
Lilith’s eyes whirled an affectionate blue. You do not need to feel guilty, Rin. She moved closer to her rider, rubbing her head against the woman’s legs and hands. Rinali caressed the large golden head, scratching the eye ridges and gazing into the huge, expressive eyes.
Silly dragon, I don’t feel really guilty! Her expression softened to one of such tenderness that anyone who saw her would be amazed. Oh, my Lil. What would I do without you?
