Subject: 1984 softail

i have an 84 softail. after its set overnight and i try to start it, it whines and intermittently turns the motor over. i have already replaced the starter, starter clutch, ran a #8ground wire to the starter.also i had the battery load checked, it was ok too. any ideas?
