To the first "no name" with batting concern:

Thanks for your input. I'll consider that. It may be a little different for me since I practice both. For three years I have studied with a private coach who is a former major league baseball guy and my swing is always called a "baseball swing". It works well for both and timing is timing, but I understand what you are saying. Thanks again.

To "no name" that has a problem with my question:

Oops!! Guess I'm in the wrong place. I thought on a "general forum" there might be room for discussion and some advice from excellent coaches with a knowledge of the game. So sorry.

(Prior to posting on this "general forum", I did ask my college coach. The college coach recommends playing during the summer before the Freshman year to give added confidence coming in the Fall, but does not like travel ball once in college. On baseball vs. softball, hesitation, but no definite answer and no real concern.)

Again - so sorry to waste your time! Guess I'll try a west-coast forum.
