As a keen supporter of bedwas rugby it certainly troubles me listeneing to the recent speculation of players leaving the team next season. I am dissapointed that the likes of Hywel davies would even think of leaving the team, especially after the level of rugbyy he has been playing has increased each year. With the unexplainable loss of Mathew Lewis to cross keys then it seems the back row will definately be a position of interest next season. It seems a blind side flanker has already been recruited but as the team has witnessed, throwing around the cheque book is not the answer!!!!!! Hywels younger brother, Huw Davies certainly shows a lot of promise but it is obvious that he lacks the hard work ethic and tends to go missing during games. Mattrvers has cemented his position after a very good season but wether he will stay injury free is the question. Owen Ankers who developed at an extremely fast pace before he left for new Zealand is definately an option. Im told he came through the youth team so obviously cost nothing!!! If his improvement continues, aided by his rugby in New Zealand then he will feature significantly next season. He posesses a mixture of each of the other back row forwards' attributes. A blend that would certainly benefit bedwas and the barmy army! I am keen to see how the selections unfold.
