Subject: That's Life

My grandmother's gone now
but she used to always ramble
those cute little sayings that we
quickly dismissed in our youth.

The irony is all those sayings
seem to become more clear and
appropriate as we get older.

"Don't ever talk about money"
"Always respect your elders"

"It's better to go to bed by 10pm. and get up at 5am, than
to go to bed at 11pm and get up at 7am. You'll gain 365 hours a year, if you do."

"Listen more and speak less."

"You'll catch more flies with honey than with vinegar."

"Wear your coat"

"Wash your hands"

"Don't expect too much"

"Don't walk too proud"

I can't think of them all
I've never really tried writting them down.
And of course, she did not create most of these, she just repeated those that she believed made enough sense to pass on to the next generation.

I'll write more as I recall them.

Everybody and everthing is fine.
Do all and stay warm (wear your coat).

Sincerely,

Gerardo
