This was the first Senate meeting Kit had attended, and she was finding it exceptionally hard to keep quiet. The blowhard Betacron had tried her patience more than once with his childish tantrums. She looked around the room at the various monitor displays. Something supposedly threatening to the whole planet was heading their way. The ordinary populace of Cybertron didn’t have a clue. Of course, proper recon hadn’t been performed so this was mostly speculation.

The Senators still fenced back and forth, their lengthy expositions sometimes carrying a potent, hidden poison for those aimed at. Kit began to wonder how they ever accomplished anything. The mysterious serpent Moloch sat silently for the most part, definitely harder to read than Betacron. Hegemon eyed her often. She considered winking at him just to see how flustered he would get. She observed a few of the other Senators. Lady Embyr in her chair, unable to stand of her own strength for very long. Kit knew better than to let Embyr’s physical handicap deceive her. The Seeker’s mind was still dangerous despite her crumbling shell. Decius had entered with her. She wondered what those two had been doing. Her gaze fell to Denarius. Even though the human was only slightly smaller than herself, he seemed comically infantile amongst the much larger Autobots and Decepticons. Still, he was a Senator. He had undoubtedly earned the position somehow at one point in his life and that thought made him worthy of caution. Schism continued to mumble to himself about fishing. How does Maritime endure that annoying babble? A new Senator named Kyrocos had joined them. The winged-wolf’s scarred face intrigued her and merited further investigation sometime after the meeting. Lux and Eulogy were also attending. Another assistant had somehow made it in Kit noticed as she saw Blurr with Eulogy. Kit had almost leapt from her seat when she heard footsteps outside quickly approaching the meeting hall. Fortunately she recognized Lady Pantera’s scent before the door was opened, and before she made a complete fool of herself. That didn’t mean Kit should be any less cautious she reminded herself as the black-furred female entered. It was all Kit could do to keep her fox instincts from releasing a growl. The “Rogue” definitely wasn’t one of Kit’s favorite bots. She actually couldn’t stand her. Pantera struck her as an arrogant, yet dangerous wild card. Even though fighting with a Senator wouldn’t help her reputation, or Lye-Onitron’s for that matter, Kit would welcome an excuse to tangle with her.

Getting back to the ongoing debate, Kit could see the anger seething within her Senator as he faced Hegemon and Embyr. They were, however, finally deciding on a course of action. Gathering information would be the first step. She felt sorry for the unlucky Councilor who would be chosen for the trip to Unicron’s head. Coming online during the Great Reformatting, Kit hadn’t known the horror that was Unicron, but terrifying holo-vids of the carnage had sent chills to her very spark. Ironic that a being once intent on destroying Cybertron might now be used to help save it. Reconnaissance information came sooner than she had expected, and she couldn’t help but laugh quietly at the officer’s quip about the government. He was right. The threat was real.
