I've been putting a little more thought into this since my last post and I must say that I agree a lot with your view. Sniping, by definition, is supposed to be patience and stealth. The Escherland (sp?) map is probably the best example of being able to do this though (although I really don't like it too much). Personally, I don't do a lot of strict sniping because I'm just too damned paranoid of standing still too long and getting my head blown off! :-) To just go head to head only is not much different than using a Flak Cannon in a regular UT match. It just isn't much fun getting hit by someone you can't see, but, at the same time, I have to admit, it isn't much fun getting killed several times in a row by someone with better head to head skills either. So, I guess I can see both points of view. What we CAN all agree on is attitude. If it's bad, you gotta go!
One thing that may make the games a little better is to figure out how it creates each team. Some games are grossly mismatched. I played one last night that finished at 100 to 43! Slightly off.
