*Jord goes down 66th street, looks at a street vendor with all sorts of illegal weapons, stolen parts, and other questionable wares.*
He asks the vendor if he can root through the inventory's broken parts and items.
"I believe some of these things can be fixed, for a small price, of course. May I fix them?" Jord asked.
"Sure. What price do you want?" the vendor asked.
"Half as much as you'd ask for if they were functional," Jord replied.
"Deal! But if you try to pull one over, my family will have your head." replied the merchant.
*Within a few minutes, Jord fixes several broken pieces of armor, weapons, and electronics.*
"Anything else I can help you with?" Jord asked.
*The vendor, still amazed, hands over the money.*
"Yup. My neighbor's daughter vanished a while back. She was in her late teens, and was found dead in a back alley, with the blood drained out of her, and all her clothing and valubles still on the body, unidisturbed. Various locals have reported a dark figure leaving shortly afterwards. If you can provide information on the killer,..." the vendor said.
"And how long ago was this girl killed?" Jord asked.
"Just a couple of days. They haven't even buried the body." the vendor replied.
"Bring me to this body." Jord commanded.
*One hour later, Jord and the victim's tearful family, a younger brother, mother, and father are looking at a body on a table.*
"It appears internal rot has not set in," Jord says.
"What does this have to do with anything?" the mother asked.
"It may be possible to revive her." Jord said.
"How? Can you bring sis back?" the little body asked.
"Yes. Have that vendor bring me a Genesynth and a culture of E. Coli bacteria."
*The Genesynth (gene creating device that inserts modified genes into cells, stolen from a hospital) is ordered, and Jord uses his database on biology to create hemoglobin on the Genesynth and insert it into the the E. Coli bacteria, creating synthetic blood. A few hours later, enough blood is created and inserted into the body, along with a "Reanimator gene" which restores activity to brain and nerve cells. Jord switches into emotional mode of thought.*
"Yes! I've revived her! Even death is no match for science!" he exclaims.
*After a tearful reunion, the girl explains that she was bitten in the neck by a vampire like creature. Jord's emotional side convinces him he must seek out the 'vampire' and if it exists, give it synthetic blood that will take the place of real blood of victims, and so Jord leaves Sciron.*
