The mare snorts, her body was soaked with sweat - the outcome of the long journey she had endured.
Her legs were beginning to become unsteady and tremble - she had been running for too long, and was near to exhaustion.
However, she still continues running - heading towards the lake. Reaching her destination she lowers her head to the water, and drinks slowly from it - a great relief for she was at dehydration.
Whilst drinking from the lake she keeps a sharp watch about her; although she was tired, and desired rest, she would regardless summon her strength and remaining energy to make a quick escape - she had a tough spirit, and was capable of enduring this suffering.
She also had an unbroken spirit, although tired and weary, if a stallion were to try to claim her he would not simply be able to herd away - if he truely wanted this mare he must work for it, for she was free spirited and would not be so easily contained as others.
