My response: The data I was gathering that day was 1) first-hand knowledge of the noise level of the airplane coming into the airport and taking off and 2) whether a plane that size could, in fact, land and take off safely on that runway. In my experience that day I did in fact HEAR the airplane landing and taking off and I did SEE the airplane land and take off safely. I didn't expect to discover any thing more or less than that. I was under the impression that there would be a few more demonstrations, at which point I planned on being at different locations around the city so I could experience the noise levels first-hand from those locations as well. Those other demos never happened.

You wrote: Tracie said (seven months later)...
My question: seven months after what? The airplane ride? or the question? You made it a point to put that in there and I'm not sure what your intention was there.

You wrote: she did not even know how high that plane was...
My response: I didn't know how high the plane was when it flew over Diane Long's house. I didn't even know who Diane Long was. Why would I know how high the plane was when it flew over her house? As soon as she asked the question, I told her I would find out if that data was important to her.

You wrote: What does this say about...
My response: It doesn't say anything about my fact-finding abilities. It does say something about my knowledge about how high the airplane was when it went over Diane Long's house. The two are completely unrelated.

You wrote: I believe...
My response: Are we talking about that jet flight that day or these issues in general? If we're talking about that demo, then I can answer the questions of altitude (in general) and fuel dumping. I can't address noise levels from a scientific perspective because the city chose not to place noise detectors around town for the demo and John Andrews did not think he should have to pay to have them set up either. So, we have no official data recorded from that day's flight on noise levels. In general, we have studies on where the noise boundaries are for the airport and what those noise levels would be within those boundaries. Which data are you interested in?

You wrote: Most importantly, how could she not know...
My response: You ask 'how could she not know' something. How could I have known? During the campaign did any of the residents of the neighborhoods near the airport invite me to come speak to their residents and hear their concerns? No. In fact, one neighborhood had a private picnic and only invited the incumbants to come meet the neighbors.

Did you contact me when I was elected to tell me what your concerns are with the airport? No.

Did you call me before the plane landed to tell me what your concerns were? No. But I'm the bad guy here because I was supposed to KNOW your concerns. I cannot know what you don't tell me.

You wrote: Does she really care??? My response: Yes I do.

You wrote: If you read the comments...
My response: No...if you read the ENTIRE post and not just the piece pulled out for shock value, you would see that I have some very negative feelings against people who DOUBLE-TALK...against people who claim to be concerned with safety and quality of life but only when it affects THEIR quality of life and safety. That's what I was upset with.

You wrote: She made these statements...
My response: For someone who claims not to be slinging mud, you're doing a pretty good job. How about stating the facts here and posting the entire statement?

You wrote: and she has made subtle innuendoes...
My response: You are the one who has added the words "gated communities" to this post and are trying to use it to inflame people. I have lots of friends who live in gated communities. My comment was a metaphor for people who choose to only be concerned with issues in their own little world behind their own little gates/fences/doors. I ran into that mentality all around Frisco...I didn't realize people were so sensitive about their gates. I've approved gated communities in Frisco. I never thought someone would take me literally. GMAB!

You wrote: Is it hatred...
My response: I don't hate people period. I am often flabbergasted when I observe how hateful people can be to one another (like they have been out here) but I don't even hate hateful people. I understand they are doing the best they can based on their view of the world and their experiences. You obviously DON'T know anything about me or you would know how ridiculous it is to say that I would hate people who have worked their butts off to get ahead. Again, if you want some FACTS about my life, I'm happy to share them.

You wrote: The people she is associated with...
My response: Where are the facts here? What people am I 'associated' with? Do you include in my associations Acker and Rogers PTA members? First United Methodist members? Soccer and basketball team parents? My Custer Creek neighbors? My previous team members or coachees at EDS? Or do you once again only choose to point out my association with Micheal Osuna? You continue to try to paint me as this one-dimensional person whose only notable friend in the world is Michael Osuna.

You wrote: This hatred goes way back...
My response: I'm unaware of this hatred and do not have any first-hand knowledge of any battles. Maybe before I got on council there were battles but that has NOTHING to do with me.

The ONLY personal examples I have of Starwood and Lakes on Legacy are when Ray Smith sponsored the private incumbant picnic for Starwood residents last campaign season and when Diane Long invited council members to a Lakes on Legacy meeting and then held the meeting without telling me when or where it was going to be.

You wrote: ...Michael Osuna...
My response: Michael Osuna is a citizen and he has ONE VOTE. At best, he might be able to influence Marlynn's vote, but if you knew Marlynn, you'd probably realize he doesn't really even have that much influence there. You are giving him WAY too much credit. And you are insulting the intelligence of the voters who made up their own minds in the voter booth.
