"I also think it is irresponsible to publish something that you do not have the courage to support by placing your own name next to the comments. "

Unfortunately, I did not pick that up from her posting, or your use of her quote, since when I read the original e-mail, this quote followed her talking about "anonymous" users, and that is the context in which I took it -- her overall thrust seemed to be aimed at anonymous posters, and that is why I replied like I did.

On that board, I am a registered user, and all one has to do is to click on the "profile" button to see my full name, in the e-mail address. This is why I took umbrage with being classed in the "anonymous" category, as with one mouse click, anyone could determine who I am -- and I strive very hard to remain professional and ethical in my postings on ANY of the MBs.

My goals are very clear -- I am a new resident of Frisco, and am interested in learning the who's and why's of the Frisco political environment, as well as finding answers to issues that directly affect me in this community. I have used my full name in several postings on all of the MB's -- most notably in the press release I used to get AT&T's attention on the Frisco-Online MB.

My sole purpose in participating in these MBs is to accomplish these goals, but I do occasionally get caught up in one of the threads. I've had the opportunity to discuss Freedom Of Speech with Fred, and have been able to discuss my thoughts on tree preservation and road conditions with the Mayor. Regardless of the subject of my postings or the board to which I'm posting , I've used this handle, simply because it was my user id for countless years in the military and on many different computer systems. This gives me an identity to which I can be tied, and the full name from which it is derived is not a secret.

I truly don't care if people choose to hide behind anonymous names or not; however, as someone searching for the truth, I normally discount greatly any information obtained from an anonymous poster, and in many cases won't even read what their postings -- cases in point have those made in the recent past by either STIX or Rick G.

In wrap, I don't care to participate in a discussion about this subject -- I simply wish my name disassociated with any mention of anonymous posters.

Thank you,

Michael Eveland
Frisco, TX.
