As it turns out, this is not an old song, but a new European one that Al Martino recorded in the past year or two. (They do play it a lot on Music of Your Life.)

I haven't been able to find complete lyrics on line, and I will eventually take up my old shorthand notebook to get them. The refrain:

Come taste the wine,
No one is a stranger here,
They're your friends and mine....
