I agree with you, technically. However, here's what I like about each place:

PWC2 BBS: The threaded conversations, the extremely-long character limit for the "author" field, the gimmick posters, the history (archived threads)

MR: The LifeTrax, the ability to create a more fleshed-out gimmick poster

JC BBS: The topic-based conversations (kinda, I still like threaded more), the game discussions, the userbase

The PWC2 main site and the JC main site are both infrequently updated. Most of the "features" as of late for the JC site have been coming from BBS posts; I don't think I've posted one myself in several months. The only thing is, I've attempted to create some kind of "brand awareness" with the name "Jolt Country." I mean, I bought the URL and everything.

What would be the Ultimate Website, then?

1) The main page has updates from both you and I. Neither one of us "own" the main site; we instead both do. The "features" tag on Jolt Country are converted into user-created "Introductions." I can't commit to writing enough features/Introductions until April at the earliest, so it is up to you, Ben, whether you want the current features merged into your own, or if you want them split like you did for Liz and Clash. You handle the layout for the main site, because if you look at my site and then immediately follow it with a look at yours you see that one of us has grabbed code from a free HTML site, and the other has hand coded their own website. Not remarkably, your site(s) look much better. Do we still call it "Jolt Country"? I don't know. I'd initially be willing to abandon the name, because almost everyone who was part of Jolt Country in the 90s wants nothing to do with the site these days. But the site is listed as a place to go in the games that I've written, and starting a new name would be tough for me.

2) The LifeTrax component becomes a part of the main site. Scoring is kept as well.

3) The BBS compromises into a threaded one, but one that still has bases. So there is an Adventurer's Guild and an Orc's Head Tavern and everything, but the layout and color scheme are changed to threaded posts like we have with PWC2.

4) We write a Perl script to go and pick off everything from this site and we put it in the main base for the new forum. So all the content we generated here lives. (Side note: can gimmick posters and real ones co-exist?) My webhost is trying out threaded software which will let us do this (well, except for the custom script).

5) We still allow logins for LifeTrax and for those people who want to login to the BBS. Should LifeTraxen be viewable by those who login, like how it is with MR currently? I don't know.

6) I have no idea what we do with the Trotting Krips section. Integrate it somehow, sure, but I don't have any specifics. The Knight Orc stuff is finished and has been for years; I don't know what to do with it, but it'd be nice if it were still accessible.

I don't personally have a burning need to have a site which is "all my own" any longer. Maybe I did five years ago, but not now. You might feel differently, and that's fine if you do. It's sort of like, when I was writing CDJ and the superhero game, I didn't want a collaborator because I wanted all the pain and all the gain to be mine, mine, mine. But as I did it more, I was happy to team up with Mike. I didn't have anything to "prove" or whatnot any longer, and the results and process were quite enjoyable.

What's your take?
