>Wait. What the? It's that unintuitive?

Intuitiveness has little to do with it. You are simply given so much freedom, that to get every little thing right is an intense, time-consuming (at least for me). You downloaded the demo, load up the editor and see what you think.

I mean, like, in RCT, to add a hill that drops and curves to the left, you click the "drop and curve to the left" button. In NL, you first add a vertex from the top view, then manipulate the bezier curve control points to give the curve the proper shape. Then switch to a side view to change the vertex's height and modify THOSE control points. Then change the bank of the track at the vertex to make the slope natural. Then go into 3D wireframe mode and scoot back and forth along the track to make sure it's smooth, and if not, make little teeny adjustments to get it smooth...

...then if you're REALLY obsessive (which I am), you go into the simulator, ride it, and make sure the G-force ratings are not excessive.

So, let's compare:

RCT, down-and-to-the-left: 1.5 - 2 seconds.
NL, down-and-to-the-left: 5 minutes, maybe.

>it would be like 3D Studio Max or something

I dunno what that's like.

>Anyway, when Ben "Pinback" Parrish tells the world
>that the new best game ever is in town, sheep like me
>buy that shit up pronto because that's not a tag you
>throw around easily.

It isn't. But it is. Have fun.
