To Whom it May Concern,
I graduated in June last year in textile design. The areas of design that i chose to study were hand painting textiles, discharging dyes, shibori (indigo dying) and screen printing. Since I graduated and have had no luck in finding
employment related to the career I love I decided to work as a commissioned artist. This was merely because I couldnt afford the equipment to print textiles, so as my course taught me fine art as well i began painting. I've done commissions for private and public spaces, but know I feel that i am wasting my skills that i enjoy using, also I find that when I am doing what I enjoy, inspiration flows so smoothly in to my work.
So the reason for this email, is enquire whether you have any paid work or work experience. The paid work could be contract, temporary or permenant, or even working as an assistant for a designer that could use my skills in thier work. Any work experience offered would be unpaid as I would put it through the job centre training course and they would pay for all my expencies.
I'd like to thank you for your time and hope that you can help in your company or if you know of any designers that could use a reliable, creative, multiskilled in surface pattern design, efficient, effective, young bright individual like myself. I look forward to hearing from you sortly
Kind Regards
Kimmo Blackburn
PS. Attached is my CV.
