Hey guys.. I was reading a forum a little while ago, and I read something rather disturbing. I am going to submit it here for your critique.

It is indeed frightening, but I think we should keep in mind that most things that Nostradamus has said have been thought to be true because of 'suitable' interpretation of the words after the events have happened. The predictions are vague enough so that one can make them seem to apply to certain events.

In any case, we can try an interpretation on the specific words. Some parts are rather evident, and do not require massive stretching of information, as has been the case concerning some of Nostradamus's predictions. Some others are unclear to me, though.

From the most self-evident to the hardest to explain:

Two brothers - the WTC
The City of God - the US dollar bill, as we know, has "In God we trust" printed on it, so with some interpretation this could be the NYC. The city in question would probably also have looked as magnificient to someone in the 17th century, which could have strenghtened the idea of "The City of God".
the fortress - what could this be? The Pentagon? It was not completely destroyed so it could be said that it has endured. On the other hand, it was massively damaged, so I am not sure whether this is a valid interpretation.
the great leader - my guess is that this could be the US, but I am not sure. The US has had (and has) large influence in the world's political matters.

One more thing is left to interpret: how could the city end up in fire more than it already is? One possibility comes to mind - if the US strikes somewhere using military power, it is possible that the terrorists strike back. They might have nuclear weapons, and the explosion resulting from one of those would certainly qualify as "fire", and would probably start a war.

Thoughts/comments on this, anyone?
