Curly haired American actor Gary Grimes is best remembered for his film debut in which he played the callow Hermie opposite Jennifer O'Neill's older, more sophisticated Dorothy in The Summer of '42 (1971).

He appeared in several more films of the '70s, including The Culpepper Cattle Company (1972) and Gus (1976).

But for a small role as the voice of one of the Beatles in the 1987 Canadian film Concrete Angels, Grime's acting career ended with the 1976 television miniseries Once an Eagle.
