Going back to Jack's comment on religion, this is virtually harking back to Chariots of the Gods, but if there are such things as aliens, this could possibly be the basis of religion anyway. Some of the early stoneage man's drawings almost depict men in space suits, and when you think of the enormous knowledge of the ancient Egyptians who wrote about planets and stars that relatively modern man poo-pooed only to discover that these celestial bodies do indeed exist but that an incredibly strong telescope was needed to view them. How did they know? There are more things in heaven and earth Horatio, etc.

Going back to Rendlesham Forest though, the antis and the pros are still arguing this one out and after all this time it's still an incredibly contentious matter. There were claims made that what was seen was in fact highly secret military aircraft being tested, and this was before the days of the flying bedstead, and surely if, as has been put forward, these were secret American things, then the Americans would have been shouting to the rootops that they had aircraft that could land and take off in an incredibly small area - Rendlesham Forest & Rendlesham Heath aren't that large a place, albeit they are fairy near the North Sea so tests could have taken place over the sea, but even so what was being spoken about then isn't all that old now, such as the stealth bomber, and something would have been made public if such technology existed then because air travel or military capabilities would be far more advanced than they are now. At least, that's my feeling about the matter, especially as whatever it was that landed appeared to have, from what I remember of a progrmme I saw about it, 3 feet - I could be totally wrong on that one though as it is sometime since I saw the programme. The area is very near Sutton Hoo, where the marvellous burial site was found, for those of you who are unaware of it, google the Sutton Hoo treasure, it's absolutely incredible. Anyway, nuff of that for now. I'm going to put my feet up and watch tv for the evening.
