Dave our neighbour was a slaughterman and he was throwing pieces of meat out for his dogs and we couldn't afford to buy it. That was in 1965 before we came to Oz and he used to boast about a bad week where he used to earn ONLY £132 which was a lot of money then. I think my dad earned about £32.
