I was house orderly in Rodney from Feb 84 to release in May 84. I spent 6 and a half months months in the house and a couple of weeks in Hardy when I got there from Reading. Worked in the laundry before getting the orderly job. I remember Flowerday, from Bristol.. bloke called Ronnie fine, big black fella. Paul keating and sexton (Andrew?). George carpenter. It was a good atmosphere, no fighting. We all used to watch Dallas in the tv room on Thursdays. The screws I remember were mr stone, he’d be long dead now. The 2 brown brothers one was SO. An SO called Wensley. Mr Pratt. Mr Bluitt. I used to get mugged for the sugary milk in the tunnel. Cos that went back to the house for the screws yea. So a few lads all had a swig from the jug. I don’t remember any bullying except some twat from slough who wanted me to give him a grey shirt in his kit for his visit, I wouldn’t be threatened so he got a pink one. That turned nasty but I sorted him out without losing my job. Overall it wasn’t a bad experience, and we weren’t away long enough to affect our lives too much.
