I agree with the baby possibly being Darla's version of dawn. My only problem with that is: are the writers going to let her live beyond the birth? I'm looking forward to Quickening and offspring, but I am slightly worried about when the baby is born. I tell myself "Cross that bridge when you get to it."
Other times I just blow a gasket because
>they were the same ones complaining last season about
>the lack of resolution for the Darla arc or "I wish
>D&D were back."

I know what you mean. I'm betting some posters would have been happy if darla returned only to die at the end, which is what they are rooting for when the baby is born. I've seen some who don't understand why Angel doesn't just stake Darla because of what he said in Epiphany: "Next time I see you, I will have to kill you."
>The A/C crowd is why I and a few others left the ASSB.

Blue, I mostly lurk on the ASSB and please return. We need a voice for Darla over there, now more than ever. That board is way too B/A for my taste.

When it comes to Darla I guess
>people say some of the cruelest things just to make
>themselves feel better, but there's no reason to be
>obnoxious about it or overbearing when someone
>disagrees with you.

Basically, some of them afraid of Darla. They're also afraid of the baby storyline, because seriously, if Darla gives birth to a special, good human baby, that bonds her to Angel in a way no other character will bond with him for a long time. Darla, for some of them, represents a very strong visual reminder of Angel's vampire past.

A few posters simply want to think of Angel as a shiny white knight, when in reality he has been an absolute a**hole to the women he has a relationship with past and present. I've always wondered what would have happened if Angel had not had sex with Darla, but a human woman who was an ex-prostitute. I'm betting most would be on the side of the human woman when she shows up pregnant on Angel's doorstep.

Darla's a vampire, so it's okay for Angel to nearly rape her, which the sex scene in Reprise would have been if Darla had not reacted the way she did.
