Darla and Angel(us) did have one Hell of a connection and history. There were definite feelings, in whatever capacity, there, possibly even from the very beginning. But I personally have never ascribed the word "love" to them.. At least, not the way I perceive the word.. Others may have a.. broader maybe?? definition for the word that includes them.

And I agree with all that red said above.. It makes their interaction far richer for me if it isn't love. Instead of just saying, "Love makes you do the wacky.." their relationship (as I see it) makes you look harder and deeper for the motivations behind why they interact as they do. I get far more enjoyment out of it because I can't shrug it off to, "Well, they're in love, so.."

That's just me though. =)
